Three Easy Ways To Increase Facebook Engagement

The average engagement of Facebook fans is just 2 percent, yet some companies maintain an engagement rate that is nearly 100 percent. How? They do this by consistently creating content that engages their fans and makes their fans want to share this content with their friends. If your business needs to engage more of its target audience on Facebook, there are three important things you can do to get your brand noticed:

1. Offer Incentives For People To Like Your Company

Facebook users expect something in return for liking or being a fan of a company. To build an initial base of fans, have contests, coupons or giveaways which are restricted to people who like your company. Instead of posting a coupon on your company’s website, post a link to like your company on Facebook in order for the person to get the coupon. The coupon should be worthwhile so people will suggest their friends also like your company in order to take advantage of the coupon.

2. Talk To Your Fans

While this may seem obvious, many companies on Facebook treat their page as another website page. A Facebook page is not a static website page; it is social media and your fans expect interaction. Encourage questions about your industry in general and questions and comments about your products. Make sure any questions or comments are answered as soon as possible. This strategy work best when one person at a company takes the lead answering questions and representing your company.

3. Make Your Company Appear Friendly And Approachable

Social media users like to know there are real people behind a company. Post videos of your company picnic, show photos employees at work, or make a video showing your employees using your product. If you have a manufacturing process that is a mystery to most people, make a video showing how your product is made. Make your photos and videos so interesting that your fans will feel compelled to share it with their friends.
Remember, social media users are more likely to engage with your company and share your content with friends if they feel like like they are interacting real human beings, not a faceless company. Facebook engagement should be more about connecting with your customers than marketing to them. Once people are familiar with your company and your brand, your company won’t need to market to your Facebook audience, the people who like your company will market your brand for you.
